Well, that truly was a whirlwind of a day! We started the day off by conducting a Mystery Hangout with a class from Lufton, TX. Now, up till this point, we had only found the state that each class was located in. Today, we wanted to take it to the next level by finding out the exact location of the school they were in. The class that we met up with was a 7th grade class, so they were under time constraints as they needed to switch classes at the bell. It worked out well though, as we had to head to music soon. We learned a little more about how to use maps, finding things like latitude and longitude, and we even looked at the highways that their school was located near. Overall, it was a great learning experience for the class and myself!
Last week, we were introduced to BreakoutEDU by one TSC’s technology liaison, Sarah Margeson. This week, I was feeling quite ambitious and so we took it upon ourselves to see if we could break out independently in our own classroom. The kids were amazing! If you haven’t done so yet, head over to the Facebook Page for our class. I streamed portions of the Breakout live during the event, and they are posted there!
Thank you all for a great week, and I hope that you enjoy your weekend!
